Governance encompasses more than just technology — it also includes people and processes. However, SOA governance solutions don't fulfil all these requirements and thereby fail to address the specific needs of an enterprise SOA. This leads to complex policies and redundant services that slow system performance.
Be it the start of an SOA effort or a deployment already in production, governance should be applied at varying levels. During development/design time, governance can help move a project forward, and during run time, having governance enables you to see how the system responds to changes, check on system behavior, and also keep an eye on performance.
This session by Sumedha and Senaka will provide developers and architects with effective governance strategies to significantly improve productivity in an enterprise SOA, as well as discuss governance patterns and how they support different SOA use cases.
