This case study by Ruwan Linton and Asankha Perera describes, a proof of concept for a government organization to expose two repositories (one that is accessible as an EJB and the other as a Web Service), as a single composite service to allow merging of the results in order to be sent to the caller removing any possible duplicates.

In this case study, Asankha Perera , Software Architect and Product Manager of WSO2 ESB, describes using WSO2 ESB and WSO2 WSAS to overcome challenges faced during a legacy modernization effort in the health-care sector.

The Apache SOA stack comprising of Synapse, Axis2, and Tomcat comes under review in this article. Kyle Gabhart also uses a simple use case to demonstrate how these components fulfill the service-oriented requirements.

The current deployment model of Apache Synapse has a tight coupling to Apache Axis2 and its semantics. The core part of Synapse can be deployed into Apache Axis2 as a Module Archive (MAR file named "synapse.mar").
