User & Portal Permissions Management

User Management

This document introduces the user management features of the WSO2 Gadget Server:

Administrator Actions

All the use management operations are only available for the Gadget Server administrator. The administrator can login with the default admin username and navigate to the user management area to carry out administrative tasks.

Managing Users

All user management functions require administrative privileges and are provided from the 'User Management' page.

Add User

New users can be added to the Gadget server via Home > Configure > User Management > Users > Add New User and following the guided process.

Add New User Role

Gadget admin can create new user roles with permissions and assign users to them. By default an Admin role is created with all permissions for Gadget Server administration.

A newly created role can have privileges such as,

  • Admin Permissions
  • Configure
  • Login
  • Manage
  • Monitor
  • Super Admin Permissions
  • Configure
  • Monitor
  • Server Admin

Portal Permission

Permission to the portal for all users can be set in the administration area by the administrator. The administrator can allow users to self register and add external gadgets.
