WSO2 WSAS is an application server for Web services. With its built in high-performance Web server, full support for XML, SOAP, WSDL, and support for reliable, secure communications, WSO2 WSAS makes it simple and effective to create, consume and manage Web services.

Based on the concept of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), the Web services specifications support secure, reliable and transactional integration based on the concept of loose coupling, which is inherently scalable.

Using the binary distribution WSO2 WSAS can be installed and run as a:

  1. Standalone server
  2. Part of a J2EE servlet container.
  3. Eclipse WTP Plugin

Binary Distribution

This distribution contains the binary files and the following tools as well as all relevant documentation:

  1. Eclipse IDE Integration
  2. java2wsdl
  3. wsdl2java
  4. tcpmon
  5. Scriptable admin client for Clustering node management

It also includes the runtime required to act as a Web services client and/or a server.
