I am -1 on keeping them inside WSF/C repo - we have to stick with the 
extern link. Keeping them inside is going to make matters worse than 
copying make files.
What we can do is to see if we can copy a minimal set of make files, 
rather than copying all. At the moment we copy all of the makefiles. But 
I am sure, we can live with some of the make files in source folders as 
they are and copy/modify only the wrapper makefiles.
