Thanks for bringing this up.
What we are discussing is the future direction of WSO2's work on an C
Web Services stack. There are a couple of possible future directions:
a) one is for us to do the work within Apache as a continuation of the
Axis2/C project; in this case WSF/C would be built (as now) on top of
Axis2/C
b) another is for us to do the work outside Apache as a pure WSO2
project hosted as wso2.org; in this case a future version of WSF/C would
be independent of Apache
One of the purposes of this discussion is to decide between (a) and (b).
This is not a matter for decision by the Apache Axis2 community. It's
fundamentally a WSO2 company decision. If we as a company decide we
want to do (a), then it would be appropriate to move the discussions to
the axis-c-dev list. If on the other hand we decide to do (b), then we
would continue on this list.
I should also say that the decision between (a) and (b) is not purely
(or even primarily) a technical decision. There are important business
issues, which it is not appropriate to discuss on this list. But I
think it is useful to have the technical discussions here. Even if we
decide on (a), then we can point people to the archives for a bit of
context when we start discussions in axis-c-dev.
