[Registry-dev] Comments on the UI

First I want to say how good this is. I think its very very good for
this stage.

But of course that doesn't mean I don't have a bunch of nitpicks!

1. Should anonymous users be able to update the rating?
2. There is no label for the Average rating.
3. The add buttons are very subtle... maybe we also need a text link
called Add. Also important for accessibility - e.g. blind or partially
sighted users
4. When I create a collection It asks for a Media type. I think this
should be labelled Optional. I'm a little concerned about having Synapse
specific stuff here only. It makes the registry seem hard-coded for just
our stuff.
5. I think the / path links at the top of the page need to be made more
obviously links - e.g. underlining them or changing the colour. They do
not look like links.
6. When I'm looking at the root it might be nice to have the words
(root) or (top) or something next to / . It looks very bare.
7. I don't like the word null in the empty description. I think it would
be better to replace it with (empty). Null seems like an error.
8. When you add a resource the text under the file upload option says:
"Give the url of a file to fetch content (xml, wsdl, jar etc..)". That is
incorrect. It should say "Choose a file to upload"
9. The option below should say:
"Give the full URL of the resource to import from that URL"
10. The fields that are optional (like name) should be marked so.
11. Under Tags it says: "Comma seperate to add multiple tags"
That is a spelling mistake (should be /separate/) but also it would be
better to say
"To add multiple tags, separate them with commas (e.g. "tag1, tag2").
12. It would be great if the activity tab had the last 20 activities
listed by default.
13. The activity search could be improved hugely... for example, we
could have AJAX typeahead lookup of user names and paths, date selector
components and also we need some way of restricting how many results
come back.
14. Also it isn't necessarily Recent Activity! If I've just searched for
activity from the year 2000, then its old.
15. I'm very scared by the ability to change the config via the Web UI.
It seems like one click of a button and maybe I've switched to inmemory
and then I lose a bunch of data.
16. Search doesn't work as I would expect. I have a resource called
synapse-logo.png, with a description "synapse logo". I type "synapse"
into search and get no results. Also there is no advanced search box for
description.

Thats probably enough for now :)
