I completely agree. +1 to simple POSTs.

However, I also want to make sure that someone using a third-party APP 
library has a consistent way of rating and tagging that works without 
them having to drop down to their HTTP client code. So I think we should 
keep the APP way as well (or maybe improve it... I haven't looked at the 
details yet).
