Fixed in revision 14689. Deleted this unused code

Thilina mentioned that the main aim for this was to act as a store but this was put on hold due to the introduction of the storeXML service which jonathan wrote. Looking at the code it looks like it was planned to store binary data too. This might be a use case for completing this service and adding it to the build.
