Submit a Story

We are always on the look out for new authors with quality writing skills & technical knowledge. If you have anything interesting to add about Web services, be it an article, tutorial or answering a knowledge base question, please Log in first, and then Submit.

Please note that your story will not be published upon submission. As author you will have continuous edit access to your story. It will only be published online after a successful moderation carried out by a set of content specialists. Moderation however does not apply to blogs, forums and comments.

Who can Submit?

Only authenticated users can submit stories. Therefore if you do not have a user account with OxygenTank, and you are interested in submitting a story kindly create an account with us now!

What Types of Stories can I Submit?

Articles: Articles may be of any topic related to Web services. They can contain images/code and a minimum number of 1500 words (code excluded). Indicate the relative project(s)/programming language implementations and version(s) clearly in the content. List information of author(s), name, profession/designation, organization, email address etc. Author can submit an abstract of his/her article hosted on some other website with the external link to that article. Tutorials: A tutorial is an in depth how-to. They can contain images/code and a minimum number of 750 words (code excluded). Indicate the relative project(s)/programming language implementations and version(s) clearly in the content. List information of author(s), name, profession/designation, organization, email address etc. Tutorials may be attached as pdf/ppt. If so, then you must include an abstract/introduction of the tutorial on the body of the Submit page. [Template]

Presentations: Attach your presentations as a odp/ppt and give a short introduction/abstract on the body of the submit page. Descriptive content with examples and code samples are encouraged. Accompanying notes for slides are also welcome. Indicate the relative project(s)/ programming language implementations and version(s) clearly. List information of author(s), name, profession/ designation, organization, email address etc.

Knowledge Base: Questions and answers, or any other material that do not fall in to the above categories maybe posted to the Knowledge Base. Mainly contain code and an average of 250 words (code excluded). Clearly note down the relative project(s)/programming language implementations and version(s), other dependent tools, environments etc. [Template]

Case studies: The case study should describe a real life problem area, your analysis, and the course of action taken to remedy it. It may contain images/code with a minimum of 1500 words (excluding code). Indicate the relative project(s)/programming language implementations and version(s) clearly in the content. You may use fictitious names of companies and people if you have been requested to maintain confidentiality. [Template]

White Papers: White papers are essays about a product, service, technology or methodology. It can include an explanation of how the technology was developed, how it is used, statistical analysis, etc. A white paper may be written in the Problem/Solution format. It may also emphasize business benefits. The word count should be at least 3000.

External Story links: You can also provide external links to Web services literature- articles, tutorials, presentations etc hosted on other Web sites. Make sure you include an abstract or an introduction on the item along with the link to the external story item.

News:This is a presentation of information related to Web services and other SOA technologies topics that are news-worthy and is of technical value for technology developers and users. These compositions could point to news articles that appear in magazines, newspapers, academic journals or any other type of publication with photographs, accounts, statistics, graphs, recollections, interviews, polls or debates on the topic.

Quoting references is absolutely helpful. References to people can also be made through written accounts of interviews and debates confirming the factuality of the writer’s information and the reliability of his source. [Template]

Events: This would be a notice describing an upcoming or past conference, seminar, talk, training, ceremony or competition. The event in focus could be related open source, SOA, Web services or any other related technology and must be of technical value to developers and users. The story should outline event type (e.g. Web conference/ web meeting/talk etc), topic, date, time, venue, registration details, biography of speakers or presenters at the event and any additional background information. The item should include a link to site hosting the event. [Template]

Demonstrations: These can include vidoes, audios, animations, screencasts or any combination of the above. The subject can be Web services, SOA or any other related topic. Demonstrations can be used to test versions of products or technology to clarify points or illustrate the full potential. Specify details of versions of applications/tools or environments. RDDL Documents: Resource Directory Description Language (RDDL) is an extension of XHTML Basic 1.0. An RDDL document, called a Resource Directory, provides a package of information about some target. The targets which RDDL was designed to describe are XML Namespaces. RDDL puts this document at the end of a Namespace URI listing there all machine-processable documents such as Document Type Definitions, XML schemas in a variety of languages (including RELAX, Schematron, the W3C Schema language, TREX, and others), Cascading Style Sheets, XSLT, and other style sheet specifications, Specification documents etc.
