Java Platforms have dominated server-side Java development for the past 10 years. The extension of Platform into the Cloud has created a new environment for developers to code, deploy and run applications in. In this session Paul Fremantle, CTO and Co-Founder of WSO2, will look into Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS):

Paul Fremantle, CTO of WSO2 delivered a presentation at JAXConf 2011, SanJose, California. His presentation examines Platform as a Service (PaaS) in detail. Looking first at the definition and various PaaS offerings, the presentation will cover the benefits and disadvantages of PaaS offerings. Then he will use an Open Source Java PaaS (Stratos) as an example to look at issues of multi-tenancy, isolation, resource sharing and security. It will cover Paas in public and private cloud.

WSO2 CTO and Co-Founder Paul Fremantle recently spoke at the 500-strong Forrester Enterprise Architecture Forum 2011, held on February 17-18 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. He presented a case study on one of the world's highest-volume Web API deployments running at more than 500 million transactions per day, discussing how the open source WSO2 ESB helped this high-profile customer achieve higher availability, simpler architecture, and better scalability with significant saving in hardware resources and human intervention. Interestingly, his remarks not only explored the impact of SOA but also the challenges of creating and managing ultra scale systems.

Paul Fremantle, CTO and Co-Founder of WSO2 has delivered a presentation at ApacheCon North America happened through 1st to 5th November 2010. Paul's talk focused on building cloud native software and shared innovative concepts used in Cloud Computing. Check the attached slides.
