I started with WSO2 ESB today, installed version wso2esb-2.1.3 (which the latest download version). I am following all the steps mentioned on the website. But I am not getting ESB console at location --> https://10.204.4.164:9443/carbon/. This request timeout without any response. Thanks Any help would be appreciated. Hi What is the server URL ?

Hi What is the server URL ? - (the Server URL is in the sign-in page along with password , username) Can you login to system if you put https://localhost:9443/carbon/ and also with https://localhost:9443/services/ into the Server URL of sign-in page . Thanks Indika

Hi Indika, I have tried both

Hi Indika, I have tried both urls and nothing comes up. The page displaces --> The webpage at https://localhost:9443/carbon might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. But i am to access http://localhost:8280/services/ which displays all the deployed service. In my case the deployed services are - XKMS, GenericAJAXClient, wso2carbon-sts, echo (I think this come out of box) I tried to access this url from another machine (within same network) as well using ip address of the local machine https://10.204.4.164:9443/services/api https://10.204.4.164:9443/carbon It was gives me same error. I am window XP. Thanks in advance Shrikant

Hi Shrikant, Could you please

Hi Shrikant, Could you please try browsing to the url https://localhost:9443/ and see what are the available contexts displayed on the page, if you get any response from the server after re-starting the server. Also, I assume you haven't changed any configurations from its default values. Thanks, Ruwan Linton Product Manager - WSO2 ESB

I tried hitting

I tried hitting https://localhost:9443/ but it does not give any response. So not able to find out available context. I have no changed any configuration for WSO2. But if try --> http://localhost:9443/ (non ssl) it tells me Available sub-contexts carbon It seems that i am able to view non https page correctly. Because http://localhost:8280/services and http://localhost:8280/XKMS?wsdl etc are viewable. Is it related to security? I uninstalled the jdk, wso2 and started fresh, I did following --> 1. Installed Jdk 1.6 udpate 16 2. Installed WSO2 3. Started the server. 4. Tried to access https://localhost:9443/ and https://localhost:9443/carbon/ The https request timeout. 5. Tried non ssl request those worked fine -->http://localhost:8280/XKMS?wsdl, http://localhost:8280/services and http://localhost:9443/ Thanks Shrikant

Hi Shrikant What is your

Hi Shrikant What is your browser ? ... From searching the web , I found some issues with Chrome [1] + network card interface , proxy configurations ,etc ... I cannot exactly say that that kind of things has caused the issue for you. BTW , it would be better to try another browser if your are using chrome .... Thanks Indika [1] http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=566aa8c703220f9b&hl=en

I figured out the issue, I

I had tried using firefox, IE chrome. It did not work on either of them. So I started looking at system variable. I figured out the issue, I had %CATALINA_HOME%\bin; in my PATH environment variable. Once i removed it, it worked fine. It now works with chrome as well as IE, firefox. I would be interested in knowing what's the issue having Tomcat\bin in path. If you can throw some light on that i would appreciate it. Thanks Shrikant

ESB is shipped with embedded tomcat

Hi Shrikant, First of all, the WSO2 ESB is shipped with an embedded tomcat 5.5.x and our startup scripts just start the tomcat instance and let the WSO2 ESB started as a webapp deployed on the embedded tomcat instance. So the issue could be, that you have some other tomcat version on the class path and the WSO2 startup failed to start the respective tomcat coyote listener. Hope this sheds some light on the issue that you were having, any way nice to hear you got it to work. Thanks, Ruwan Linton Technical Lead & Product Manager - WSO2 ESB
