Running identity server behind apache

I am evaluating Identity server as an OpenID provider and I wonder if there is a way to connect the server thru ajp protocol, having apache in DMZ and the identity server in MZ. More, I wonder if there are any special issue to take care of for a setup in a RH cluster (active/passive). TIA, Guido
