Automatically parse properties from WSDL

When I add a WSDL resource (application/wsdl+xml), it just appears as a plain resource. I expected various metadata (e.g. method names) would be extracted so that I can search the registry for them. It's clear that some processing is going on, as 'invalid' WSDLs fail to upload. Do I need to add the WSDL resource in a different way?
