Unclear Where JNDI Datasources Go

Excellent job on WSDS 2.0! I like it a lot. In the FAQ, there's an example of using JNDI lookup of ddata sources when the application server is JBoss. But what if you want to use data sources defined in the default Tomcat container? Where are they configured? My first thought was lib/tomcat/conf/context.xml, but that didn't seem to have an effect.

Usage of JNDI Datasource

Hi criecke, JNDI datasource is used when the connection pool is defined not in the default server but in some where else. Therefore you better use other datasource type in your kind of scenario. Kalpanie.

Ewww, that's inconvenient.

Ewww, that's inconvenient. If your database server changes, you have to update every single data service definition. Not to mention data services cannot share a connection pool, so its less scalable. I'll put in a feature request for that. Craig Riecke, Co-Author, "Mastering Dojo" (Pragmatic)
