Stratos with autoscaling on OpenNebula

Hello Stratos team,

I recently installed Stratos 1.5.1 on OpenNebula 3.0.0. After I got the Load Balancer 1.0.1 working with multiple fixed Application Servers, I tried to enable its auto scaling feature using the Amazon EC2 interface of OpenNebula. But since OpenNebula only supports a small subset of the EC2 methods, this failed when Stratos called the DescribeAddresses-method.

So, is it possible to restrict Stratos to use only those EC2 methods that are available by OpenNebula or is it currently not possible to run this setup? If so, are you already working on a connection between Stratos and OpenNebula?

In order to extend the EC2 interface of OpenNebula, could you provide a list of all EC2 methods that Stratos requires to enable auto scaling?

Many thanks in advance, Thorsten

Hi

Thanks for trying the autoscaling on OpenNebula. At the moment, we have never tested whether the autoscaling works on OpenNebula, or started work on that. From your comment, I learn that it is not possible to make this work without some code level changes. However, pls refer to [1] and [2] on configuring auto-scaling with WSO2 Load Balancer, if you prefer.
