Build a UI Component or Add New Menu to WSO2WSAS Management Console

I am trying to Build a UI Component without success. I follow http://wso2.org/library/tutorials/build-ui-component-wso2-carbon-platform-part-1 without success. I see also https://wso2.org/wiki/display/carbon/UI+Menu+Tree I compiled org.wso2.carbon.sample.ui using wso2wsas-3.1.3-src then I copied the generated lib to webapp\plugins but the menu is not visible. Can someone explain me how to extend or add an new menu to wso2wsas management console? Thanks in advance
