Sumedha Rubasinghe

I have been using Open Source Software(OSS) since the beginning of my career in 2002. However, after joining WSO2 in November 2006, my association with Open Source Software took a dramatic turn. The atmosphere at WSO2 allowed me to go from being a mere OSS user to a OSS contributor. As such, I consider receiving commit-level access to Apache Web services project a honorary privilege. At WSO2, I work as a Tech Lead and play the role of Product Manager for WSO2 Data Services product. Armed with previous experience in enterprise application development, it is indeed a pleasure to be a part of the WSO2 team shaping up the future of Web services products. My major contributions have been in the following projects: (1.) Apache Axis2 (2.) WSO2 WSAS (3.) WSO2 Data Services (4.) WSO2 Registry I truly enjoy learning and trying out new methodologies/technologies in enterprise application development, in order to sharpen up my knowledge as a Software Engineer. I hold a B.Sc. second class honors degree in Management Information Systems from the University College Dublin(UCD), Ireland and am currently reading for a Masters Degree in Computer Science specializing in Software Architecture from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Although not a champion sportsman, I enjoy playing badminton and table tennis. I also indulge in swimming and cycling too. In my spare time, I travel in jungles, mountains, and remote villages. Reading has been one of my longest standing past times. I have the somewhat unusual habit of collecting tool sets, backpacks and running shoes also!
